About Us

WHO WE ARE

Our motto is GOD CAN.

Our church is full of people with stories of how they have reached the end of what they can accomplish on their own, and have found that GOD CAN in the midst of their struggles. We believe you will experience that too.

Our Story

1993

The Beginning of Gold Creek

1993

Gold Creek Community Church launched Easter of 1993. Our Founding Pastor Dan Kellogg and a ragtag group of ordinary people were willing to dive in together and reach Western Washington with the hope of Jesus. Ever since, Gold Creek has been a constant story of God doing the impossible – that’s why we say GOD CAN!
1993-2004

Meeting in Schools

1993-2004

Each Sunday, Gold Creek would gather in a school – beginning in Totem Falls Elementary. A defining moment in Gold Creek history was a walk of faith from Totem Falls to the purchased piece of property for the future building. Hundreds of people walked nearly 2 miles to have church in a tent, and each family planted a flag in the ground declaring this place to be a place where God would move. There was an energy of everyone being together for a cause – seeing a neighborhood influenced and changed by the love of Jesus.

Permanent Home

2004-2010

Every piece of the Mill Creek Campus original building and additional expansions was bolstered by teams of volunteers doing projects – everything from the actual construction to painting and sweeping, creating so many deep bonds. During the economic downturn of 2008, metal framing for upcoming building projects sat in the parking lot turning to rust as our loans fell through. But the GOD CAN story of Gold Creek continued, and the new worship center was completed in 2010 – truly a miracle!

Going Digital

2013

From humble beginnings and low-tech solutions to a robust team effort, a simple live-stream of our services began to give attendees options to stay connected from afar. In 2020, the world changed and everyone went online. The digital community of Gold Creek solidified and grew into what it is today – an experience that engages those taking part in services remotely. Nearly half of all Gold Creek attenders can be seen online each week!
Now

A Season of Change

Now

After 29 years of Gold Creek and 44 years of ministry, Pastor Dan handed the baton of leadership to a new Lead Pastor: Nick Wallsteadt. Pastor Nick comes to us most recently from Southeastern University in Florida, and brings a breadth of ministry experience to his role here. No matter where you are in your faith, this is a place for you to process and grow. We hope you’ll come along for the journey in our new season and be a part of the story at Gold Creek.
